Earth matters

CLIMATE CHANGE

Considered one of the most important environmental issues of our time, climate change can be defined as any significant change in the Earth's climate system, lasting decades or longer.

Climate change can be caused by natural causes or it can be the result of human activities.

Human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels, which mainly generate greenhouse gases, are the cause of this serious environmental threat and the greatest threat to humanity.

CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Human influences have been described as the root cause of climate change since the 20th century, this is where most changes are seen in them and they have different impacts, leading to changes in the entire climate system.

Consequently, climate change is largely limited; significant but sustainable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions must be implemented; this is to maintain it as a planet fit for life, while reducing climate change.

If we do not take action, we won't live long enough to evolve.

CONSEQUENCES OF NOT CARING FOR THE ENVIROMENT

If we do nothing, these impacts will cause irreversible damage to crops and food production or to human health, not to mention economic and social damage.

Sea levels will rise due to melting glaciers, sea ice and high temperatures. This will cause flooding in nearby populations.

Many animals and plants will become extinct due to lack of water for their nutrition.

Places where it rains and snows will heat up and dry out completely, as well as rivers and lakes.

On the other hand, the decrease of rains will also lead to deforestation and soil desertification.

THINGS WE CAN DO TO HELP

Water

If you are going to prepare drinks or food, use only the amount of water you need, even when bathing, this will also help you save energy.

Lights

If you are not going to be at home, sleeping or doing other activities, turn off the lights. Also do not leave chargers plugged in.

Cars

If you are going to a nearby place, choose to use public transportation or bicycle. Cars account for a large part of climate change.

Plant a tree.

If you are going to give a good view to your house what better than with a tree. Believe it or not a tree helps a lot, it is estimated that 5 trees absorb 1 ton of carbon dioxide in their lifetime.

We won´t lose our planet, let's fight for it!
